Mike Rogers

Mike RogersMike Rogers is a recognized and well-respected figure in the exciting world of outdoor field sports. As a world-class hunter and veteran television producer, his extensive travels have taken him to every corner of the globe many times over. Since 1983, Mike has experienced at least one African safari each year. Having personally produced an entire library of classic outdoor sports programs, he has delivered award-winning work in some of the most challenging environments on earth. In the process, he has accumulated a wealth of stories, though his own story begins much further back...

Raised in the rolling hills and sagebrush o southern California, Mike Rogers hunted throughout his youth with a well-oiled Daisy BB gun. At age 14, his father–Mike,. Sr. taught him to shoot a single shot 20-gauge at flushing coveys of quail in the California valleys, later introducing him to mule deer hunting in Colorado. An avid sportsman, Mike enjoyed football, baseball, track, surfing, skiing and motocross, but hunting was the guiding force that led him to San Diego State University, where he studied Film and Television.

While in college, he developed "SportsCenter" a university-wide TV series. After earning his degree, Mike continued to be heavily involved with photography . and video production, working with Sportsmen On Film, a leading field sports video company. Soon thereafter, he was producing and directing major league baseball broadcasts for the San Diego Padres, as well as high-profile segments for the Olympics.

In 1987, he founded Safari Video Productions and dedicated his career to field sports. Classic outdoor video programs like 'Monster Elk," "Africa's Black Death," "The Land of Kilimanjaro," "Double Impact," and "Great Rams of Asia" were personally produced, directed, shot, and edited by Mike Rogers.
